Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has announced its fuel prices for March 2026, marking a reversal of the two-month downward trend as petrol and diesel rates increase compared to February.

The latest adjustment comes after the UAE’s fuel price committee had reduced rates in February 2026. Petrol prices had also witnessed a slight dip in January when compared to December 2025, offering temporary relief to motorists at the start of the year.

Petrol Variants See Upward Revision

The revised prices apply to all three petrol categories available across the country:

  • Super 98
  • Special 95
  • E-Plus

Diesel prices have also been adjusted upward for March, reflecting global oil market movements.

While the exact per-litre prices vary monthly, the March revision indicates renewed upward pressure in international crude oil benchmarks, which directly influence domestic retail fuel pricing.

Impact on Motorists and Businesses

The price hike is expected to impact daily commuters, logistics operators, and businesses that rely heavily on transportation. Analysts note that even moderate increases in fuel costs can have a ripple effect across delivery services, retail pricing, and operational expenses.

However, the UAE’s transparent monthly fuel pricing mechanism allows residents and companies to anticipate adjustments in line with international market trends.

Fuel Price Deregulation Policy

The UAE deregulated petrol and diesel prices in 2015 to align domestic fuel rates with global oil prices. Since then, the country has adopted a monthly review system under which the fuel price committee announces updated rates based on international crude prices and operational costs.

This system ensures that fuel prices reflect real-time global market conditions rather than being fixed or subsidized.

Market Outlook

Energy analysts suggest that fuel prices in the coming months will largely depend on global crude oil supply dynamics, geopolitical developments, and production decisions by major oil-producing nations.

Motorists are advised to monitor monthly announcements to stay informed about price adjustments.
