UAE Launches ‘Bayan’ Platform to Unite National Health Data Under One Dashboard

For years, health officials in the UAE faced a persistent challenge: critical healthcare data was scattered across hospitals, clinics, and multiple government entities, making it difficult to gain a comprehensive view of the nation’s health landscape. That challenge is now being addressed with the launch of Bayan, a new national digital health data platform.

Introduced by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) at the World Health Expo (WHX), Bayan brings together the country’s vast health-related data into a single, integrated dashboard. The platform consolidates information ranging from disease prevalence and doctor licensing to hospital bed capacity and the number of medical graduates, offering decision-makers a clearer and more connected view of the healthcare system.

Health experts have described Bayan as a “single source of truth” for the UAE. The platform connects both historical and real-time data sourced from public and private healthcare providers, government bodies, and even non-health sectors. By breaking down traditional data silos, Bayan is enabling more informed planning, policy development, and long-term healthcare strategies.

Dr. Alya Zaid Harbi, Director of the Statistics and Research Center at MoHAP, highlighted Bayan’s role as a national unifier for data-driven decision-making. “It is a big data platform and enterprise data warehouse where we connect all the data — historical and live — into one platform,” she said. “The data comes from different sources, including electronic medical records, national health surveys, and even non-health sectors such as education and road traffic.”

She added that the platform also integrates education-related data, such as the number of students studying medicine and nursing, allowing authorities to better forecast workforce needs and align healthcare capacity with future demand.

With Bayan, the UAE is taking a significant step toward smarter, data-led healthcare governance. By centralising insights and improving visibility across the sector, the platform is expected to enhance system efficiency, support preventive healthcare initiatives, and strengthen the country’s preparedness for future health challenges.
